Abuse Symptoms
The narcissistic cycle of abuse is so covert, most survivors are not even aware they were being emotionally and psychologically abused… only that they’ve completely lost themselves in trying appease their abuser and are no longer able to trust their own thoughts, feelings, decisions, experiences, and memories.
Serious damage can result from NPD abuse including trauma bonding, cognitive dissonance, disassociation, C-PTSD/PTSD, self-harm, and even suicide.
Recovery from narcissistic abuse is absolutely possible. However, the effects from the abuse will not simply “heal with time” and must be processed properly. This is also necessary to help prevent you from falling victim to future abusers.
